MBA Intern – Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
Location: Remote (Portland, ME preferred but not required)
Summer 2025 | ~10–12 weeks | Full-Time
About Brief
Brief is reimagining contract management for fast-moving, regulated industries. We’re a venture-backed startup based in Portland, Maine, helping teams move faster by eliminating the chaos of contract workflows, disconnected tools, and document sprawl. We’ve just launched our enterprise pilot program and are building the future of intelligent document infrastructure from the ground up.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a smart, scrappy MBA intern who’s excited to roll up their sleeves and help us scale. You’ll work directly with our founder (ex-Amazon, Techstars alum) to drive business development, customer research, and partnership strategy during a pivotal stage of our growth.
What You’ll Do
Research and qualify prospective enterprise customers across construction, infrastructure, real estate, and energySupport our go-to-market efforts: draft outbound messaging, refine pitch decks, track follow-upsAnalyze feedback from early users and pilot partners to shape onboarding and expansion strategiesIdentify and evaluate potential integration or channel partners (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, Procore)Prepare deal briefs, customer profiles, and ROI narratives to support enterprise sales cyclesHelp build the internal operating systems that let a scrappy team punch above its weight
What We’re Looking For
Currently enrolled in an MBA program (ideally post-Year 1)
1) Someone eager and willing to learn how to sell (or already knows how to sell in some capacity). Any experience in sales in the past would be welcome.
2) Clear, concise communicator with a strong grasp of B2B sales, customer research, and SaaS metrics
3) Gritty, entrepreneurial mindset — comfort with ambiguity and ability to self-direct
4) Interest in legal tech, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS is a bonus
5) Prior experience in consulting, venture, partnerships, or ops is a plus, but not required
Why This Role Matters
We’re not offering coffee runs — we’re offering direct access to a real startup at a make-or-break moment. You’ll help shape our sales playbook, investor story, and customer growth engine while working side-by-side with the founder. If you’ve ever wanted to be in the room where it happens, this is that room.
